Before the First World War in the south-west of England has founded a fraternity of artists. Fun atmosphere disposes to sleepless nights and picturesque landscapes give inspiration to creative people. Alfred Munnings have a buddy Gilbert Evans, who take part of art parties. The sweet Florence Carter Wood (Emily Browning) come to study painting. Gilbert falls in love, but the Florence preferred the Alfred. Alfred and Florence get married, but during the honeymoon, Florence realizes that she committed a monstrous mistake.
