In 1938, Jettel (Juliane Kohler), together with their five-year-old daughter Regina, flee Nazi Germany to Africa, where their husband and father Walter already lives. Such a dramatic change in climate, and indeed in all living conditions on a remote farm in Kenya, undoubtedly leads a person to comprehend his own life. Walter and Jettel cope with their crisis away from home, as they get used to distant Africa, as crises try to knock them off their feet, and as gradually the disgust for Africa disappears. Their daughter Regina fell in love with the black continent immediately and partly thanks to her, the family manages to see something beautiful in this harsh life.
