Lucie (Melanie Bernier), posing as a lesbian, gains the trust of a jeweler and, during an attempted robbery of her apartment, pushes her. The fall causes the jeweler to lose consciousness. Believing the woman to be dead, Lucie flees in fear and seeks help from renowned lawyer Viviane Guerand, who agrees to take the case out of remembrance of her own life, when, many years ago, she failed to save her 20-year-old daughter from death.
