Jack is pursuing the psychopathic gangster Albert. Albert has escaped from prison and is eager to find the guy who knows where a large sum of stolen money is hidden. To speed things up and ensure safety, Jack releases a con man named Reggie, who knows something about Albert. Jack is a principled cop, a silent type who solves everything by force. Reggie is a charming con man, a chatterbox, who solves problems with intelligence and cunning. They team up to solve the murder of two police officers, which Jack witnessed. He hopes Reggie can help, but the problem is that they hate each other and fight at every opportunity. Both have only 48 hours to catch Reggie's former partner.
