A priest is found hanged in a church, he apparently committed suicide. During the funeral procession, a strange girl (Roxane Mesquida) appears, dressed in tattered clothes, silent as a mute, and with a wild gaze. The locals are eerily impressed by this stranger, who is convinced she is possessed by the devil and responsible for the priest's death. Only one village policeman doesn't believe in ghosts and cares for her. However, another inexplicable and sinister incident soon occurs, and stopping the locals' wrath against the stranger will not be so easy. It becomes clear that the visitor has come from the high pastures, where something is happening in the midst of the alpine meadows that would be best left hidden.
