Two influential businessmen grow rich by making money on the stock exchange by selling and buying frozen orange juice, as well as gold, coffee, and other items. They employ a skilled manager, Louis, and then one day they meet a poor man, Billy, on the street. A crazy idea for a bet comes to these "fat men," and they decide to swap Billy and Louis's lives. Billy instantly becomes rich, now with his own house, car, money, and even a personal butler. But what about Louis? He ends up in jail, his girlfriend dumps him, his friends turn their backs on him... The crux of the argument is whether a man raised in high society can one day stoop to theft or murder, and whether a man who has always been poor and on the streets can manage a vast, multi-million-dollar empire.
