Claire (Ellen Barkin), a daring skydiver and stuntwoman, awakens to find herself on a parachute field in Spain. Her dress is covered in blood, and she believes she's killed someone, but who? Continuously lapsing into amnesia and struggling to stay awake, she learns that on the eve of a crucial performance, she's suddenly leaving for Spain. There, she seeks to reunite with her former teacher and lover, only to discover that he's getting married and believes their previous relationship is over. However, Claire, torn by conflicting emotions, tries to rekindle their former love. The only joyful fall is falling into the abyss of love. The rekindled feeling captivates both, but predictably, ends in tragedy.
