The post-war generation in Germany, raised in conditions of relative political freedom, radically rethought the principles of its existence, its way of being, and its morality. These people opposed themselves to the previous generation, developing conceptually different ideas. And what do these people see? They see that in their state, where capitalism has triumphed, all their socialist political ideas are not only ignored but openly persecuted. Yet socialism, as a political idea, was invented by German thinkers! These young people witness their government openly supporting the colonial wars unleashed by the United States in Vietnam, as well as the brutal dispersal of student demonstrations and the adoption of emergency laws. At one point, these people cannot withstand this pressure from the authorities and form the Rote Armee Fraktion, which espouses radical, guerrilla methods of struggle.
