A retired, middle-aged lawyer lives a rather carefree life, but he urgently needs money to pay for a medical procedure for a prostitute he knows, Milena. This leaves him in a vulnerable position and ready to seize any opportunity. Molecola, a bold and calculating adventurer beyond his years, makes the lawyer an offer he can't refuse due to his need, a substantial fee for "legal support" and the resolution of minor but dirty matters. His first assignment is to clean up the Budapest snack bar. The lawyer, involved in a pogrom and defending a woman he once tried to save in court, kills one of the militants. This act instantly turns the situation explosive.
