A lakeside resort town is preparing for a lavish summer celebration, attracting thousands of teenagers from across the country. However, on the eve of the celebration, bloodthirsty piranhas emerge from a fault line created by seismic activity. Seismic divers explore the newly formed fault line. They discover a huge ancient cavern containing piranha eggs, after which the killer fish attack the divers. Realizing the full extent of the danger, the sheriff declares a state of emergency. However, it's too late, the newly arrived teenagers are already frolicking in the lake water.
