Griffin is a high-ranking bureaucrat at a major film studio, greeted with a smile and dismissed with disdain. His job, annually handing out only a dozen lucky tickets to big-time screenplays to script submissions, is to blame. Thousands of other screenwriters, meanwhile, receive a hefty kick in the pants in Griffin's office. With his "yes" and "no" this bureaucratic cog determines the fates of many aspiring writers, evaluating their creative abilities according to simple formulas and mercilessly dismissing anything that contradicts them. Moreover, Griffin is one of those self-important clerks who look down on others from the heights of their powerful position, while remaining small and useless. Everything changes when one of the offended "failed" screenwriters decides to take sophisticated revenge on the hero, using unusual threats and clever blackmail to turn Griffin's monotonous life into a dangerous game.
