Monique's death is like all other events in life, it's unremarkable, like the tungsten filament in a light bulb slowly fading, only to burn out in an instant. The agony seems endless - a plaster mask of a face, a throat-rending breath. And yet, death, as an event not part of life, puts everything in its place. Though only briefly.
