Actress Camille (Jeanne Balibar) arrives in Paris with director and theater manager Ugo to stage a play. The onstage passions they immerse themselves in gradually spill beyond the theater. Camille seeks the thrill of meeting a former boyfriend, while Ugo, by hook or by crook, tries to find an unpublished manuscript by a great playwright. Beautiful and angular, Camille, with a penchant for cut-off dresses and a penchant for the unexpected, feels like a true Parisienne, as if she were born and raised here, not in Italy. Camille's hyperrealistic smile draws all the men around her. It perfectly embodies the mental perception of the imperfections of the world around us, be it work, people, or habits. In an effort to break the strange cycle of sensations and perceptions, Camille enters a decidedly alien space and dissolves completely within it, only to be reborn, like Venus, from a beautiful and sweet nothingness in her earthly form.
