The longtime owners of an American estate are harassing settlers from the Amish religious community. Their raids are accompanied by murder and violence, while the authorities turn a blind eye. The situation changes when Rebecca (Naomi Watts), the widow of one of the men killed by the bandits, saves Johnny, a wounded gunslinger, from death.
