German troops are about to enter their village. Terrified by this news, brought to their Eastern European town by the eccentric and dreamer Shlomo, its residents vainly try to find a way out. A saving idea strikes Shlomo: "We'll deport ourselves", everyone in the village will pool their resources and buy a train. Together, the train will be decorated as a "death train." The youngest and strongest will learn German, don Nazi uniforms, and escort their fellow villagers... pretending to be heading to a concentration camp, but in reality, to Palestine, the promised land, through Ukraine and Russia.
In the evening forest, Agathe de La Fontaine rips open her shirt, revealing her bare chest to a young man.
