Franco, blind but perceptive, leads a modest life with his young niece, earning his living by painstakingly composing crossword puzzles. One late evening, strolling leisurely through the dark streets, he unwittingly overhears a suspicious conversation. Two people are whispering in a car parked in front of the ominous building of a medical institute, a place where risky genetic experiments are secretly conducted. After a few hours pass before the silence of the night is shattered by news of a break-in at the institute. Then the city is engulfed in a wave of mysterious murders, each bearing the mark of something inhuman. Franco has only nine clues. But it is these nine clues, which should lead to the solution of all these terrible crimes, that lead him into a mysterious and secret world where everything is intertwined in a formidable web of deception.
