Artist Drood learns of the murder of his lover, Yolanda (Virginia Madsen), a nightclub dancer. Before her death, she sent Drood a series of incriminating photographs of several influential individuals who used Yolanda's intimate services. Drood is attacked and the photographs are confiscated. Drood's attempts to uncover the truth about the murder only worsen the situation, as authorities seek to frame him for it. A police inspector, implicated in the photo scandal, seeks to eliminate Drood. Haunted by persecution and abandoned by his friends, the artist is forced into hiding and finds support only in his ex-wife. But chance presents Drood with an unusual way out of his predicament.
