Julia Ormond Nude

Julia Ormond "The Baby of Macon" (1993)

The 17th century. In a theater, an audience, comprising both the wealthy and the common folk, watches a performance. The spectacle offers exactly what the public craves, blood, violence, sex, death, religion, mysticism, and grandiloquent speeches. The country is plagued by famine, destitution, and a mysterious epidemic of infertility. Then, one day, an elderly, unsightly woman gives birth to a healthy, beautiful child. The infant is immediately hailed as a miraculous phenomenon and likened to the Savior. To imbue the event with even greater sanctity, the child’s own sister (Julia Ormond) steps in, claiming to be his mother and asserting that his conception was immaculate. People clamor for some connection to this miraculous child, seeking his blessing and believing that, thanks to him, prosperity will return. And so it comes to pass, the mass infertility recedes, and the child is elevated to the status of a folk saint.
A naked Julia Ormond attempts to prove to the crowd that she is the child’s mother and that he needs her.
