Aram and Assadour are emigrants from Armenia, brothers who have not seen each other for more than twenty years. Aram owns an estate in Turkey called "The Lark's Nest" where he and his brother were born and raised. He and his family are waiting for the arrival of their older brother Assadour, who works as a doctor in Italy. But this meeting was not destined to happen: in 1914, the war begins. Italy closes its borders, and Turkish soldiers begin to destroy the Armenian population.
