In the pale blue pre-dawn haze, hunter John Moon heads into the wooded mountains and passes a sign prohibiting hunting and fishing. John searches the thicket for a deer and fires a single shot. An attempt to cover up a hunting accident turns into an endless nightmare for John. Like a wounded animal, he finds himself cornered, desperately trying to change the past and regain his footing.
