Two hippie hitchhikers travel across America, encountering a wide variety of people along the way. Among the characters they encounter are a hysterical lower-middle-class housewife with a "nothing to worry about" attitude, a rather aggressive individual with a knife, a local truck driver who wants to sleep with a girl (Meg Foster) for twenty dollars. And then there are swingers from the proletariat who have nothing to lose but their underwear.
