Cassie Yates "Rolling Thunder" (1977)

Charles spent seven years in captivity. He returned home, only to find his wife leaving him for another man. His nine-year-old son doesn't remember him at all and feels no affection for him. Then, some ruthless Mexicans show up and, for the sake of two grand, cold-bloodedly murder his wife and son right before his eyes. He gets shot too, but survives. Once recovered, Charles joined by a beautiful blonde who’s in love with him and a friend sets out to exact a decisive, methodical, and brutal revenge on his family's killers. Yes, revenge is sweet, who could deny it? You have to admit, it’s certainly satisfying to kill people while hiding behind lofty ideals of justice and other such nonsense fit for schoolchildren. Although, truth be told, Charles’s family suffered because of his own stubbornness: had he not been so principled and simply handed over the money he’d been given to the robbers, only he would have died, and even that isn't a certainty. But of course, why blame yourself when you can go and spectacularly rip the bad guys' balls off with a hook in the name of justice?
