A young family, Mary (Selma Blair), Mark, and their young son, head to their country cottage to escape the sadness of their daughter's tragic death in the near-pristine natural setting. The morning after his arrival, Mark discovers in his yard some rather friendly neighbors who live relatively close and have decided to visit their new potential friends. Having practically invited themselves in that evening, the strangers, behind their cloyingly sweet smiles, reveal their true colors, which turn out to be much more terrifying than they initially appear. The newly minted family turns out to be a group of maniacs, led by their deranged leader, who are attempting to emulate the lifestyle of the respectable Mary and Mark, only to send them into oblivion.
