Karen Young "Night Game" (1989)

Houston police, led by Detective Mike Seaver, investigate the brutal murders of young women on local beaches. No leads. But all the murders share a surprisingly compelling fact, the atrocities occurred only on days when baseball games were taking place. A note reading "Good luck!" is found at the crime scenes. The killer uses a knife, the victims were stabbed with their right hands, but the notes, judging by the handwriting, appear to have been written with their left. At the same time, Mike is tormented by the anxieties of an older man afraid to commit to marriage with Roxy (Karen Young).
