Madeleine (Rebecca Marder) and Antoine, a couple in love, vacationing in a luxurious villa by the sea. Beauty, wealth, relaxation. Both lawyers, both soon to take the exam for a prestigious state academy for the elite, where future ministers and politicians are educated. Both intend to defend the rights of the common people. They get into trouble because of Antoine, but Madeleine, trying to save the life of her cowardly lover, and then her own, commits murder. Everything happens in an instant, if she hadn't shot, they would almost certainly both have died. Madeleine wants to go to the police and confess, she has numerous mitigating circumstances, but Antoine insists on covering up the crime. So they do.
