In a year safely far from the inevitable millennium, the planet will shudder with the approaching Last Judgment, the seas will boil, the rivers will turn red, Islamic jihad will freeze in the July heat, and brother will turn on brother with a particular ferocity. Far from the New Testament allusions, a young woman named Abby (Demi Moore) is preoccupied with three things, a sluggish pregnancy, the color of the wallpaper in her nursery, and finding a suitable tenant. Little does she realize that everything in this world is interconnected, and that a seemingly respectable tenant could seriously undermine her lack of faith, a priest could turn out to be a werewolf in a cassock, and the birth of her first child could become an event of planetary proportions.
