The dark shadow of addiction looms over Paco and Urko, both are secretly struggling with heroin withdrawal. In a desperate attempt to support their addiction, they become involved in the drug trade. Fate brings them together with Betty (Lali Espinet), a young Argentine woman who has fallen to the very bottom, a prostitute, just like them, enslaved by heroin. It is Betty who opens the door to the dangerous world of drug trafficking, introducing them to El Cojo, their future supplier. For a brief moment, Paco and Urko manage to escape the vicious cycle, but Betty's influence proves stronger, and they relapse again. Paco's despair reaches its limit, he decides to take a desperate and cruel step, stealing morphine intended to ease the suffering of his dying mother. When his father learns of what has happened, Paco, broken and cornered, flees home. In search of a fix, he and Urko make a fateful decision, to rob El Cojo.
