After a year of psychoanalysis, Solo, a failed writer, is morally and mentally broken and on the verge of a nervous breakdown. At the last session of psychotherapy, the doctor, whose services he can no longer use, advises Solo to get a pet, which will help him find himself and solid ground under his feet. Solo listens to the doctor's recommendation and gets a dog, and with it additional problems. Completely desperate and unable to solve the problems with the pet on his own, Solo turns to his best friend Casper, a photographer and lover of women, for help, who in turn introduces Solo to Jules, a rich girl who collects dogs. Jules immediately agrees to take the dog from Solo, but suddenly he realizes how much he is attached to his four-legged friend and does not want to give the dog away.
